On August 5, the CEO of ToRead participated as a panel speaker at the “Youth Forward” event organized by Awaited Millennials. The gathering brought together over 350 youth and professionals from across Lebanon, all focused on empowering young people to shape their futures through entrepreneurship, leadership, and innovation.

Lessons Shared with Youth

During the panel, three core lessons were shared with participants—insights drawn from both personal experiences and ToRead’s journey as a youth-focused organization:

  1. Just Start
Many young people wait for the “perfect moment” or “perfect idea” before taking action. The truth is that perfection comes only after starting. The first step is to bring your idea to life, no matter how small.
  2. Trust the Process and Yourself
Failure is not a dead end, it’s a source of feedback. Every setback, whether it’s a poorly attended workshop or a project that doesn’t go as planned, provides valuable lessons about marketing, timing, pricing, or strategy. Without trying, those lessons remain hidden.
  3. Ask for Help and Seek Mentorship
A strong support network is vital. Many people are more willing to help than expected, but opportunities arise only when you ask. Mentorship, advice, and collaboration can accelerate growth and open new doors.

A Moment of Reconnection

Beyond the panel discussion, the Youth Forward event served as a space for reconnection. The CEO was able to meet alumni from earlier programs he organized and managed, witnessing their ongoing growth and their contributions to youth empowerment in Lebanon.

Through such engagements, ToRead continues to advance its mission of building the next generation of impactful leaders in Lebanon and the region by inspiring, mentoring, and equipping youth with the mindset and skills they need to succeed.
