Who is Amal Mzayen?
Amal Mzayen is a 20-year-old passionate medical journalist, youth leader, and content creator who excels at bridging the gap between storytelling and science. Since joining the ToRead community, she has dedicated herself to raising awareness about critical health topics such as colon cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Amal believes that combining scientific ideas with vibrant storytelling is essential for promoting a healthier body and mindset, a philosophy that has shaped her role as an inspiring figure for young people exploring their interests.
The Success Story
Amal narrates her journey, saying: My path is a fusion of creativity, education, and youth empowerment. I founded iCast, a podcast with over twenty episodes where I interview entrepreneurs and changemakers to explore innovative ideas shaping Lebanon.
In parallel with my independent initiatives, I run Sharid, a specialized library hub and YouTube channel that encourages children to learn through hands-on projects. My participation in the ToRead Entrepreneurship Hackathon in 2023 and the Own Your Work Hackathon in 2025 was instrumental in strengthening my skills in public speaking and audience engagement. I also serve as the Program and Operations Lead at the Cardiovascular Network, the first international hub for medical students focused on heart health, and volunteer in social media with the SAID Non-Governmental Organization Against Colon Cancer. Through my work at Cosmic Dome and my clinical experiences, I have developed a multi-disciplinary approach to leadership and research, proving that one should never be tied to a single path, but rather embrace curiosity as a catalyst for growth.
