As ToRead celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2026, we are looking back at the incredible journeys of our community through our special ‘Where Are They Now’ campaign. Today, we are proud to spotlight Rahaf Zahar, a dedicated ToRead Alumna since 2021, to share how her path has unfolded over the years.
Who is Rahaf Zahar?
Rahaf Zaher, 20-years-old, is a dedicated Chemistry graduate and educator who has seamlessly blended her scientific passion with community service. Rahaf finished her Bachelor’s in Chemistry at Beirut Arab University, she was a high-achieving scholar and graduated with honors. Her journey with ToRead began in 2021, where she successfully completed three foundational programs:Introduction to Scientific Research, the Entrepreneurship Workshop, and the Ready4Work program.
The Success Story
Rahaf narrates her story: My success is built on a foundation of continuous learning and a deep-seated commitment to community service. My journey with ToRead began in 2021 through the Scientific Research program, which was the catalyst for my decision to pursue Chemistry at Beirut Arab University, where I graduated with honors. To bridge the gap between science and leadership, I completedover 10 certified training programs, including the IC3 Digital Literacy and the Youth Leaders Program with AMIDEAST, while gaining hands-on experience through a laboratory internship atArwan Pharmaceutical Industries.
In parallel with my academic path, I have dedicated over 5 years to humanitarian work with international and local organizations such as the IRC and Amel Association, focusing on psychosocial support and emergency response. My leadership journey evolved significantly in 2023 during theShe Leads program, whereI co-founded and led the Haq Mesh Shart initiative in Saida to advocate for Lebanese women’s right to pass their nationality to their children. I believe that true success lies in using one’s education and skills to championsocial justice and empower those around us.
