As ToRead celebrates its 5th anniversary in 2026, we are looking back at the incredible journeys of our community through our special ‘Where Are They Now’ campaign. Today, we are proud to spotlight Youssef El Saneh, a dedicated ToRead alumnus since 2021, to share how his path has unfolded over the years.
Who is Youssef El Saneh?
Youssef El Saneh is a 21-year-old engineering student pursuing a double diploma in Computer and Telecommunication Engineering from the Lebanese University and Microelectronics and Chip Design from École des Mines de Saint-Étienne in France. As the Founder of Saneh Instruments and an Embedded Systems Research and Development Engineer at Variohol Engineering in Germany, he leads the development of innovative hardware and high-precision machinery. A dedicated ToRead alumnus since 2021, Youssef’s journey is defined by his global impact, having ranked seventh worldwide in the International Economic Olympiad.
The Success Story
Youssef narrates his journey, saying: ” My career reflects a deep commitment to specialization and building a strong technical foundation. After engaging with ToRead, I focused on bridging the gap between academic excellence and industrial innovation. This led to the founding of Saneh Instruments, where we developed the first Lebanese-made Microcontroller Development Board, empowering regional engineers to turn their prototypes into reality. In contrast, I concurrently led Research and Development efforts in high-precision machinery in Germany.
In parallel with my technical work, I have been deeply committed to socio-economic leadership and community impact. Through my leadership roles at the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers and representing Lebanon in the International Economic Olympiad—where I ranked seventh worldwide—I have worked to position our youth on the global stage of innovation. For me, success is not about following trends, but about the dedication to a specific craft that provides real value and leaves a lasting legacy for humanity.
Recommendation
Youssef encourages young people to embrace specialization and resist the pressure of following the hype. He invites youth to discover their unique path and commit to it with depth, believing that true global contribution comes from those who master their field with consistency and purpose.
Youssef El Saneh is one of the thousands of youth that ToRead has worked with over the years. We are proud to shine a light on their success. ToRead continues to support the youth in Lebanon and the region through innovation, technology, and Entrepreneurship.
