Following the success of the first cohort, ToRead has completed the second iteration of its “Business Leadership for Community Resilience” training program, following the conclusion of its sessions for a new group of 25 business owners in the Tripoli and Al Fayhaa region.
The program was implemented by ToRead in partnership with the Safadi Foundation as part of the Tarabut Project, with funding provided by the European Union.
Program Framework and Objectives
The four-week curriculum was structured to assist small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in developing operational strategies for volatile economic environments. The training focused on two primary areas:
- Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs): Participants analyzed the application of global targets within a local business context and designed initiatives to address specific social needs.
- Professional Collaboration: The workshops provided a framework for business owners to establish partnerships aimed at increasing market reach and operational scale.
Technical Coaching and Grant Funding
Upon completion of the group workshops, the 25 participants engaged in individual coaching sessions. These sessions were designed to provide technical assistance in:
- Drafting social initiatives integrated with their existing business models.
- Developing grant proposals and managing project budgets.
Following this technical support phase, 10 businesses from this cohort have been positioned to apply for a grant of up to 5,000 Euro to implement their proposed community initiatives.
Regional Impact
With the completion of this second cohort, ToRead continues its work in the planning and execution of training programs for the business and youth sectors. The initiative serves to provide local enterprises with the practical tools required to maintain operations while contributing to the economic stability of the region.
