On October 23, Hany Anan, Director of ToRead, participated in a high-level panel discussion titled “Shabab in Action”, organized under the EU South Neighborhood Initiative. The event, moderated by Francesco Bakhos, Project Manager at ESA Business School, brought together leading voices in Lebanon’s youth and entrepreneurship ecosystem, and the Dutch Ambassador for Youth, Education, and Work at the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The panel also featured Georges Mrad, Founder of Volunteering Marathon; Nina Mehrez, Founder of the Lebanese Entrepreneurs Network; and Rein Metlej, recognized by Forbes 30 Under 30. The discussion focused on the role of youth and entrepreneurship in driving social and economic change in Lebanon, as well as the challenges youth face in the current environment.
During the session, Hany emphasized the importance of immediate action through youth-led initiatives while also advocating for long-term policy change to ensure sustainable impact. He shared insights from ToRead’s experience in engaging young people through its various programs and the Takadam Platform, which provides youth with access to education, career opportunities, and personal development.
The “Shabab in Action” session was a testament to how collaboration between youth organizations, entrepreneurs, and policymakers can drive positive change and open up new opportunities for young people across Lebanon and the region.
At ToRead, we remain committed to empowering youth through education, technology, and innovation, helping them not only access opportunities but also create lasting change in their communities and beyond.
